FLP

That is not the end of the story though because organisers now have the job of fitting out the 2,818 flats where the 16,000 athletes and officials will be staying. There is a huge shopping list which includes 64,000 bed sheets, 11,000 sofas, 170,000 coat hangers and 5,000 toilet brushes! When the Games are completed the village will be turned into houses and the area will be known as East Village.

The athletes will obviously need food during the Games and an anticipated 60,000 meals will be served each day. The athletes, coaches and officials will also get through 25,000 loaves of bread, 75,000 tonnes of potatoes, 75,000 litres of milk and over 330 tonnes of fruit and vegetables. That should fill a few supermarket trolleys!
Other facilities in the village will include a bank, cafe, hairdressers and beauty salon, general store, souvenir shop, internet lounge and an entertainment centre.
